GRANGEVILLE — The Kids Klub annual Fall Festival Fund-raiser variety show is set for Saturday, Oct. 12, at the Elks Lodge in Grangeville. This year’s theme is Monster Mash and all participants are encouraged – though not required – to dress up. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 6 p.m. and variety show at 7 p.m. followed by dancing to a live band.
Tickets (for adults 21 and older) are $25 each or $30 at the door and are available at Irwin Drug, Sterling Bank, Grangeville Centennial Library and Kids Klub. Call 983-2285.
Valley Ringers and Singers begin rehearsals for their 60th year
KAMIAH — The Valley Singers, a longtime entity in the Clearwater Valley, celebrating their 60th year, are beginning preparations for their 2013 Christmas Program. Rehearsals will start Monday, Sept. 30, at the Kamiah Community Presbyterian Church.
The Community Bell Choir will rehearse in the fellowship hall starting at 5:30 p.m., and the Singers will begin their practice at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary.

Grangeville preschool developmental screening set for Sept. 26
GRANGEVILLE — The Little Britches annual preschool developmental screening will take place Thursday, Sept. 26, for children ages birth to 5. The screener will help determine age-appropriate skills and/or possible concerns regarding a child’s development. The screening is free and will take approximately 45 minutes to complete. The screening will be held at the Grangeville Christian Church in Grangeville between the hours of 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call 983-1671 to schedule an appointment.
Idaho County Orchestra to perform Sept. 26
KAMIAH — The Idaho County Orchestra will be presenting a free concert Thursday, Sept. 26, 7 p.m., at The Life Center in Kamiah, MP 69 1/2 on Hwy 12. The group will perform Blazing Bows of the West, Crocodile Rock and Vivaldi Spring along with other music from the past to benefit the Gary Forsmann Memorial and the Larry Paul Honorary scholarship funds. CVRA to host tryouts for rodeo queen Oct. 6
KAMIAH — The Clearwater Valley Roundup Association (CVRA) will be hosting tryouts to select the 2014 CVRA rodeo queen at 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 6, at the CVRA rodeo grounds arena on Hill Street in Kamiah. Girls, ages 14 -19 (as of Jan. 1, 2014) are eligible, and must reside in Idaho, Lewis, Clearwater or Nez Perce counties.
The CVRA queen is expected to ride in rodeo parades in Kamiah, White Bird, Asotin, Grangeville, Weippe and the Kooskia Days and Kamiah Barbecue Days parades. CVRA provides the queen with a tiara, trophy buckle and $250 expense funding. Club members also assist the queen with fund-raising projects to help offset travel expenses. Sell it on E-bay, Artistry of Cake Flowers classes set
GRANGEVILLE — Lewis-Clark State College Grangeville Outreach will offer two upcoming classes through its enrichment program.
Sell It on E-Bay! is set for Oct. 7 and 14, 6 to 8:30 p.m., at the Grangeville Center. Elaine Stanley will instruct the course which costs $35 for the two sessions.
Artistry of Cake Flowers is set for Oct. 9 at Pizza Factory, 6 to 8:30 p.m., with Beth Sturdevant instructing. Cost is $32 and fees will be donated to Grangeville High School’s dual credit scholarship program.

Last Brown Bag of the season is today
GRANGEVILLE — Grab a lunch and head over to the local museum for Grangeville’s Brown Bag program today.
Today, Sept. 25, Mark Gravatt will present “History of Military Aircraft.”
This is the final fall free historical lecture and slide show sponsored by the Bicentennial Historical Museum. It will be held at the Bicentennial Historical Museum basement meeting room at 305 N. College Street, Grangeville starting at noon. Visitors are invited to bring a lunch and drink and sit in on the sessions. Coffee and lemonade will be served.
Cowboy Fellowship to be held Sept. 28
GRANGEVILLE — Gary and Judy Porter with Rid’n For the Cross Ministries invite everyone to Cross Country Cowboy Fellowship which will be held Saturday, Sept. 28, at 6 p.m. in their fellowship barn. Baked spaghetti will be provided. Bring a side dish and a friend for a time of music and fellowship.

Beth Moore Bible study to start in October
WHITE BIRD —The Beth Moore study “When Godly People do Ungodly Things,” will be hosted by Kathy Stefani for six weeks beginning in October. The day and times are being set now.
