Each year as Christmas dawns, it’s a fun trip down memory lane to look back on past Santa letters that have appeared in the Free Press. In 1977, third graders wrote about the meaning of Christmas while second graders simply asked for items and chit-chatted. The most popular items asked for in Idaho County that year? Join the Upriver Youth Leadership Council (UYLC) Youth Advisory Board (YAB) for a fun-filled night geared towards teens, on Dec. 31, at the Life Center (4432 US-12, Kamiah, ID). This event will be from 7 p.m.-7 a.m., and is free of charge. Breakfast the following morning will be provided. There will be activities for every interest, including video game tournaments, music, dodgeball, movies, “Minute to Win It” contest, and food. This event is for youth grades 8-12 only. The free monthly community breakfast at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church will be held Wednesday, Dec. 27, from 8:30-10 a.m. Breakfasts are held every month on the last Wednesday of each month.
